“Tears are words that need to be written.”— Paulo Coelho

I love making people cry.
A lot of tears are shed in my treatment room.
Not tears of pain or hurt or sadness.
Tears of relief, tears of joy, tears of RELEASE.
The tears that my clients have been holding in for days, or weeks, or even years, that they didn’t even know about.
Tears that just start flowing when they sit down to tell me why they’re here, and they see and feel for the first time someone attentively listening and holding space for them to talk about what is ailing them, why they’re desperately seeking help.
Tears that were buried and ignored while they run around just trying to hold their lives together day by day.
Tears that start spontaneously pouring out while they’re on the table from an unexpected, but much needed, emotional release.
Tears after their session at the deep sense of RELIEF they finally feel when they get back up.
And the only thing that bothers me about this is when they try to stop themselves. When they start apologizing.
I tell them, No, please, love, do NOT apologize. This is what you’re here for. If there is any time and place to let those tears flow, it is right here, right now.
I’m not here to judge someone’s emotional release. I’m here to hold space for it.
Crying is not required. Certainly not every client cries, nor does every client that does cry do so every time.
Every person is in a different place on their journey, and I’m here to meet you where you are.
Because wherever you are on your journey is Divinely perfect.
Whether that is to take a break for an hour or two from the chaos of life and just breathe easy for a bit.
Or to have a social chat for 15 minutes before a monthly self-care maintenance session.
Or, to have an intense emotional release from the grief and sadness you were burying in your body and didn’t even know it (or maybe you did).
It’s all welcome. It’s all perfect.
